50TH EXPEDITION – EDS
The 50th Health Expedition took place between November 25 and December 3, 2022, in the Assunção do Içana Indigenous Community, in the Alto Rio Negro Indigenous Land, in Amazonas, and served indigenous people from the Baniwa and Kuripaco ethnic groups, from the Aruak and Yanomami linguistic trunks.
In all, 408 surgeries were carried out, 2,382 medical and dental consultations and 10,891 exams and procedures, as well as the donation of 660 glasses (prescription and sun protection).
49TH EXPEDITION – EDS
The 49th Women of the Forest Expedition, a cervical cancer prevention initiative, took place between August 6 and 12, 2022, in the region of São Gabriel da Cachoeira (AM). In all, 19 surgeries, 180 consultations and 843 exams and procedures were carried out.
48TH EXPEDITION – EDS
The 48th Health Expedition took place between June 11 and 18, 2022, at the EDS Indigenous Medical Center, in Pari-Cachoeira, in the Alto Rio Negro Indigenous Land – AM, which served indigenous people from the Baré, Desana, Dow, Hupda, Kubeo, Pira-tapuya, Siriano, Tariana, Tukano and Tuyuca and Yuhupdeh ethnic groups. In all, 35 gallbladder surgeries were performed by video (videolaparoscopic cholecystectomy), 12 hernia surgeries, 467 medical and dental consultations and 1,176 exams and procedures.
47TH EXPEDITION – EDS
The 47th Health Expedition took place between April 15 and 23, 2022, in the Raposa Serra do Sol Indigenous Land, in Roraima, which served indigenous people from the Ingarikó, Macuxi, Taurepang, Wai Wai, Wapichana and Yanomami ethnic groups. In all, 477 surgeries were carried out, 3,570 medical and dental consultations and 11,750 exams and procedures, as well as the donation of 1,175 glasses (prescription and sun protection).
45TH EXPEDITION – EDS
The 45th Health Expedition took place between September 4 and September 10, 2021, at the EDS Indigenous Medical Center, in Pari-Cachoeira, in the Alto Rio Negro Indigenous Land – AM, which served indigenous people from the Baré, Desana, Dow, Hupda, Kubeo, Pira-tapuya, Siriano, Tariana, Tukano and Tuyuca and Yuhupdeh ethnic groups. In all, 57 surgeries, 569 medical consultations and 2,317 exams and procedures were carried out. In addition, 142 prescription glasses were donated in partnership with Renovatio.
44TH EXPEDITION – EDS
44th surgical, clinical and dental care expedition, held from November 29th to December 7th, 2019, in the São Miguel do Arapiuns Community (PA).
43RD EXPEDITION – EDS
The 43rd Expedition-EDS, to assist indigenous women in a cervical cancer prevention initiative, took place between August 6 and 12, 2019, in the region of São Gabriel da Cachoeira (AM).
42ND EXPEDITION – EDS
The 42nd Expedition-EDS, of clinical, surgical, and dental care, took place between April 12 and 20, 2019, in the Cartucho Village, in the municipality of Santa Isabel do Rio Negro (AM).
41ST EXPEDITION – EDS
The 41st EDS expedition of clinical, surgical, and dental care was held from September 7 to 18, 2018, in the São José village of the Krikati people, in the municipality of Montes Altos.
40TH EXPEDITION – EDS
The 40th EDS expedition of clinical, surgical, and dental care took place from May 4 to 12, 2018, in the Crispim Community, in the municipality of Labrea-AM.
39TH EXPEDITION – EDS
The 39th EDS expedition, which provided clinical, surgical, and dental care, took place from October 25 to November 4, 2017, in the Morada Nova community, in the municipality of Feijó.
38TH EXPEDITION – EDS
The 38th EDS expedition of clinical, surgical, and dental care took place between March 19 and April 1, 2017, in the communities of Yauarete and Pari-Cachoeira,
A total of 364 surgeries, 2,963 medical and dental consultations and 5,455 tests and procedures were carried out.
37TH EXPEDITION – EDS
The 37th EDS Expedition took place between November 12 and 18, 2016 in Iauaretê, to perform Trachomatous Trichiasis surgeries, serving the Hupda population of the region. A total of 68 eyelid surgeries were performed, benefiting 34 patients.
36TH EXPEDITION – EDS
The 36th EDS expedition of clinical, surgical, and dental care took place between November 18 and 26, 2016, in the community of Assunção do Içana.
A total of 312 surgeries, 1,881 medical and dental consultations and 3,450 exams and procedures were carried out.

The EDS team is pleased to report the results of its 35th clinical, surgical, and dental care expedition, which took place from July 8 to 16, 2016, this time serving the Sateré Mawé and Hixkaryana indigenous populations.
